USO Camp Atterbury Gaming Center Ceremonial Groundbreaking
Tuesday, September 13 was a perfect day for the ceremonial groundbreaking of the future USO Camp Atterbury Gaming Center.
USO Midwest Regional President Alison Ruble, Atterbury-Muscatatuck Garrison Commander Col. Michael Grundman, and former Adjutant General Marty Umbarger were joined by USO board members, donors, volunteers, staff, and base leaders at the future site of the $650,000 addition.
The event included a special briefing on the enhanced gaming and e-sports capabilities that will be included in the 2,250 square feet of additional space added to the existing USO at Camp Atterbury. The Camp Atterbury USO is the largest USO center in the State of Indiana. In 2021 the center delivered over 82,000 total service instances to our nation’s military service members and their families.
Through USO Gaming, service members can forge bonds with fellow service members, stay connected to loved ones back home and take time to recharge through the simple act of playing a video game. USO Gaming Centers are outfitted with top-of-the-line screens and consoles, designed specifically so that groups of service members can play games – and bond – together.
The USO is grateful for the generous support provided by all our donors that make the important work we do every day possible for our military service members at Camp Atterbury and around the world.
Contact the USO Indiana Executive Director, Mike Hanlon, at mhanlon@uso.org or 317-522-8825 to learn more about USO Gaming and opportunities to support this exciting project.
