On September 5, 2020, the USO was with the NHRA at Lucas Oil Raceway at the Denso Spark Plugs U.S. Nationals. During the race, FOX broadcasted a special salute to CPL Luisa Kolb, an Indiana military service member who went above and beyond, supporting the COVID-19 pandemic. CPL Kolb, a combat medic with 215th Area Support Medical Company, 81st Troop Command from Franklin, Indiana, received the Army Achievement Medal for administering aid to a chef at Second Helpings, a community kitchen in Indianapolis. “I was cooking and heard a very loud bang,” Kolb said. “We got Mike out of the kitchen and sat him down. We applied ice on the burns and kept applying until the pain was going away.” She credits her quick response to her military training. Thank you to the NHRA and Coca-Cola for the recognition of this outstanding service member!
