Core Example: Youth Programs

Across the Organization

The USO Youth Program gives military children opportunities to build lasting friendships with other military kids, strengthen their relationships with their own families and engage in activities that are both fun and a foundation for resiliency.

With activities and events geared toward all ages, the USO Youth Program gives military children chances to forge their own connections within their military community. From arts and crafts, to book clubs, to cultural events about their new host country, military kids can reduce stress, build resiliency and feel supported throughout their family’s time in uniform.

What this looks like here:

Here in Hawaii we have a number of youth events.

  • Schofield Barracks and Fort Shafter centers host monthly Keiki craft events.
  • Fort Shafter hosts a quarterly family event designed for parents and children to bond.
